Accountability
I've maintained my consistency with my micro workout routine every day as well as reading and/or listening to scripture every day (almost always both, listening in the morning as I put away dishes and reading at night before bed - the only exception has been some mornings the dishwasher fills up and runs and is unloaded so as to not sync up with a morning unloading)
This morning I had three sets of twenty-five squats to get out of the way with only twenty-five seconds of rest between sets. I had a terrible slip on the ice yesterday where my foot striking the ground hit a skiff of snow on top of hidden ice and shot out from under me so fast and hard I had no ability to react and came down hard on me right hip and jarred my back pretty good. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to complete my walk to work, but was running late and just got up and forced myself on through some discomfort. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to switch back and forth between standing (or using a mini stepper) and sitting through my workday and the pain lessened as the day went on. The point of sharing this is that I was worried about setting something off with my squats this morning, so I took the first set really cautiously - After I got through it I could tell it was going to be okay, a little tender and a stretching sensation around my butt and hip region, but no pain. I succeeded in getting all three sets done with the short rest periods, but those final reps were certainly more difficult in the final set.

Ponderings
Last night I read about the meeting of Moroni and Zarahemna in battle at the River Sidon. There are a number of lessons to learn from this that make me grateful that Mormon was inspired to keep this account while abridging roughly one thousand years of records. What struck me this time around is where each of these men put their faith and who/what they gave credit to. Moroni declared that his army was strengthened by the Lord to win the day and gave thanks to his god, while Zarahemna simply believed Moroni had been better prepared with armor and essentially outsmarted and out-maneuvered him. Where Moroni could see the hand of god, Zarahemna either could not, or would not.
This makes me think how often we may choose to explain away blessings of the lord with the reasoning of the pride of men. Let's work to be like Moroni in recognizing god's hand in our lives.
Be strong!

Strength and Honour, “The things of God are of deep import, and time, and experience, and careful and ponderous and solemn thoughts can only find them out.” (TPJS, 157) Captain Moroni was “insinuate a better cause” and had certainly sought the Lord for help in preparations for defense.
I meant “inspired by a better cause.” Those Arnold Frieberg paintings are inspiring. Arnold certainly envisioned Captain Moroni as a spiritually and physically strong man holding the Title of Liberty and rallying the people to stand against evil attacks.
Quite the inspiring fellow that Moroni
