I did two-minutes of pull-ups, one repetition at a time with grip readjustments ending up with twelve repetitions in my work time.
Pondering
Today I listened to a section getting later in the war chapters of Alma where the Lamanites took many of the cities of the Nephites that had been fortified after the manner that Moroni had directed, but they fell because they were not sufficiently strong. Of course, throughout the scriptures there are numerous accounts of the Lord giving extra strength to those who are living in such a manner that they can receive that blessing and those that call upon Him for that blessing.
I felt this could be a useful experiment for reflecting on one's self as though they were the land of the Nephites. Ask yourself, "what areas of my life are not sufficiently strong and need reinforcements?" Consider, what you can do to stave off temptations in those areas and what you can do to increase defenses in those areas of life. Perhaps you struggle with patience, anger, greed, lust, gluttony? I know I have had my share of weakness to overcome (and still working on making improvements). I am finding that by redirecting my focus morning and night into scripture, even in small bits that I'm keeping the things of eternal worth before my eyes and in my ears which helps shape my thoughts. I am still needing to be much better at more in depth study, but I'm pleased with the efforts I'm putting in and finding that this little blog helps me to ponder more upon what I'm reading and listening to as I know I will be pushing myself to share.
