Well at my house it has shaped up to be a beautiful Christmas morning. Helping Santa last night has left mom and dad exhausted as there was an emergency where some doll hair had become out sort and required work to have it looking new again by morning which kept us up way too late and the girls were so excited they kept waking up through the night wondering if it was time yet. I did manage to piece together a couple hours of sleep between the interruptions and the smiles and squeals of delight this morning were wonderful. It was also great having the girls participate in reading the Christmas story from Luke throughout December and then to start off present opening with a reading of John 3:16 to remind us all that the true gift of Christmas is Jesus Christ who's birth we celebrate. I've often felt that reading the Nativity account on Christmas morning would be great, but I don't know that without having started it that way from the very beginning that my children would ever have the patience for that on Christmas morning (and as I mentioned, they love to read it night after night through December, so that part is covered to a decent extent). In any event, I like the idea of starting Christmas morning with a Scripture and prayer to ensure we are honoring the Lord at the celebration of his birth.

Fitness Accountability
After present opening was completed I stole away for a few minutes to get in my squats. I decided I had a little extra time and so I played a song lasting three-minutes and did my squats. I went straight through with no breaks and made it a little past sixty repetitions at a steady pace. I would have thought I should have got through more with the extra minute as last workout I did around fifty-five in two minutes. I'm thinking the fatigue of Holiday preparation and helping the guy-in-red with gifts must have left me with less oomph, but I am happy to report I put in the time and did the routine.
Scripture Listening Insights
I have to admit that with the girls all awake and playing with toys that make noise among other things going on that I didn't have as much focus listening to scripture as usual while putting away dishes this morning. So today I will just comment on some accountability to this developing pattern of behavior as well. I have been consistent with both listening to scriptures every morning while unloading the dishwasher which ends up being the most fresh in my mind when I report on insights in the morning. I have also read at least one verse each night, that usually blossoms into a full chapter once I have the book in my hand anyway - It's nice though on nights when I have been overly busy and just want to go straight to bed to know that if I pick up the book and read one verse I'm holding to my commitment to re-establish a daily routine of reading at least that much.
Be strong!
