Accountability
This morning I got right back at things with making my bed and saying morning prayers as well as getting in a portion of my workout for the day (I'm experimenting with having a more traditional workout broken up into smaller chunks throughout the day) which saw me doing 20 step-ups per side, followed by 10 knee tucks (like a combination of pull-up and hanging leg raises with bent knees) and a batch of jumping jacks for two rounds. This totaled 80 step ups, 20 knee tucks and 80 jumping jacks in my 5-10 minutes available this morning. I should try to repeat this amount later in the day.
Ponderings

This morning I listened to the early portions of 2 Nephi (somewhere into the 1st chapter and moving on to the second). The highlight that stood out to me was freedom to choose liberty or captivity. I think it's easy to take this as a spiritual law for freedom from grievous sin by choosing to avoid it, but less so when it comes to things of a more temporal nature. Still, by having restraint we can choose greater financial freedom by making choices to be wise with our expenses, work hard to improve our earning potential and so on. With our health we can choose to make healthy choices patterned after the Lord's counsel given in the scriptures (think Daniel eating pulses and the Word of Wisdom) or we can choose to neglect our health and choose the captivity of poor health in various forms (this is not to say that all health problems can be escaped or are an individuals fault, but it is to say there are choices that can highly influence this).
Let's choose freedom and liberty!
Be strong!

Right, The small and simple things will add up. A habit of saving money over time would add up. The same goes for exercise and careful eating. You know that would be basic temple maintenance. I just heard about a soldier who fought in Okinawa or Iwo Jima and was going back for the 80th anniversary of success there. He is 102 now and still fit since he goes to the gym every day. I wish I could smugly say I lived by that simple guidance always but hey that’s why we are here - to improve.
