Pulling myself back up

Accountability

Workouts have been pretty consistent in a minimal fashion. While I'd shifted to greasing the groove, I wasn't always doing enough round through the day to make up for the smaller amounts of work per work period - I'm thinking I should return to a greater focus on single bouts in the mornings again as my mornings should be able to be back on track here right away as the worst of my home repairs are now complete and no longer keeping me up into the night and squeezing out my morning time by forcing later sleep.

This morning I did sets of pull-ups to failure with no particular rest interval timing. I just did the first set of ten, unloaded the dishwasher, did another set of eight (had hoped for ten) and so did another set of two to get my ten right after a quick sip of water.

My morning and evening prayers have been going well. I've also taken to some additional fasting for the world and my country to heal which has had the added bonus of taking an inch or two off my waist.

Ponderings

It's usually easiest for me to share musings on my morning listening because it's the most fresh in my mind. Unfortunately, although plugged in, my phone didn't charge last night, so I had to readjust the plug and leave it charging this morning and didn't have it for listening to. I'm going to share some thoughts from the recent General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. With Easter coming up a talk that stood out for me was about having a more Christ-focused Easter. Admittedly, I would love to have more Christ-centered Holidays in general, especially Easter and Christmas - the challenge is getting family buy-in when my wife and kids and other extended family want to focus on Easter egg hunts, gift exchanges and so on. It's a fine balancing act to find ways to infuse more focus on the Lord around the "main events" that should be the supplemental events if had at all. I'd love to hear what others do to ensure they pay proper respect and attention to the Lord for Holidays while false traditions rage around them?

Be strong!

Repurpose, This is a point of concern to me. I like Christmas lights, for instance. I think it’s good to celebrate the birth of Christ with lights and joy and gifts. I have great memories of all this and I know the scripture about the tree in the Old Testament but I never worship the tree. I remember great times decorating the tree with family. I remember Easter Egg hunts that were fun family times. I know my wife found a lot of stuff about these bad traditions and evil stuff tied in with the pagan Easter history and pagan Christmas history. I guess I see some kind of balance where a person can repurpose the way these things are celebrated and soak up the good that can be derived from old traditions and celebrate Christ in our hearts. This is something for me to think on. I certainly do think it’s not good to support false traditions. Thanks for the food for thought. Sometimes I have to ask myself, “What else have I been in a thoughtless Stupor about?”
