The Lord Remembereth His Covenant

Accountability

Squats this morning 3x20 with 35 seconds rest between sets, 40 pounds load on shoulders. Slowly and steadily building. Prayers from knees happening morning and night, scripture study morning and night. Just small little windows, but remaining consistent, in some cases for a couple months now uninterrupted. Others are still newer/

Ponderings

Near the end of 3 Nephi we get the instruction from Mormon that we need any longer hiss or spurn or make game of the house of Israel, nor any remnant of it. He says the Lord remembers his covenant with Israel and that it is unwise to think the Lord's hand can be turned from the right to the left. The first lesson here is to learn to keep our word. If we are trying to emulate the lord, here is an example of one who we can trust and put faith in. Let's make sure we value holding up to our commitments as well. Secondly, let's be sure that we aren't on the wrong side of mistreating children of the covenant, those descended from ancient covenant-makers or those adopted into the covenant since.

Forgetfulness, Distraction, Preoccupation, I am with you on keeping promises. I have also had the experiences of getting distracted when I had a job to do. That’s all Satan has to do to make us slip from a covenant. We can be “lulled” or distracted. I did 651 push-ups from the knees yesterday and listened to scriptures for two hours which is handy. I have more time to listen than read.

Listening is a wonderful option for sure. Way to go with those push-ups those numbers are intimidating, even if the push-ups are from the knees that kind of number shows dedication and may seem inaccessible to others. Great work.
