An invitation and commandment from the Lord
In 3 Nephi 23:1 we read:
And now, behold, I say unto you, that ye ought to search these things. Yea, a commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah.
The words of Isaiah were scriptures that that the Lord knew were among the Nephites and would be among us in the last days. He gave commandment to search Isaiah's words diligently. Over the last few years, I've certainly made an effort to better understand Isaiah and have read various commentaries and learning guides. Of these, I've found Avraham Gileadi's works to be the best for opening my eyes to new understanding and helping me be better at recognizing symbolism throughout not only Isaiah, but all scripture. Even so, there is so much to learn from Isaiah that one could spend years building a deeper understanding.
Today I'm going to share two resources to help others interested in searching Isaiah more diligently.
The first I came across while listening to "The Book of Mormon - A Master Class" podcast. It's called the Isaiah Map. This map helps to put the geography and important history on one page to help someone better understand Isaiah.
The second is an upcoming course that I have enrolled in to get some added guidance. The course hasn't yet started and some of you may wish to join - it's free, and if the class times don't work with your schedule you can watch recordings of classes at a later time.
Be strong!
