Accountability
I have stick with with my commitments to nightly scripture study, morning scripture listening and daily physical activity. This morning I had pull-ups to do and worked through three sets of five, still with forty-five seconds rest between sets. The final reps in that third set are remaining a challenge. I am hoping they will start to feel easier before reducing the rest intervals, but I may need to play with some things anyway. As it turned out today when I completed the dishes, I did an extra set of pull-ups, three of which were great, the final two, were incomplete reps only 75% of the way up.
Ponderings
Today I listened to the end of Zemnarihah, a robber who replaced Giddianhi as the leader of the robbers of Gadianton. While the people of the Lord were all gathered together into one place with all of their flocks and provisions, the robber were left to subsist off wild game which had become scarce, it was a reverse siege situation where the robbers outside the city were not well supplied and those within were fine. My thought today is how we can work to gather every needful thing and starve off those temptations that would rob us of our happiness. What can you do today to be better prepared for physical and spiritual assaults that can and do take place? What sin is knocking at the gates that you need to starve out and defeat for good when it is sufficiently weakened? Are you praying for strength to stand against the day your robbers come against you? Are you building fortifications? Have you gathered the spiritual resources you need to withstand a siege?
Be strong!
