Hope against hope

Accountability

This morning I did 3 sets of 25 bodyweight squats with 40 seconds between sets. It was a rough night with the wind and and other worries on my mind and the phone ringing in the middle of the night, but I'm up and able and did my small part.

As for scripture study and prayers I've continued with my nightly readings and have been more prayerful of late with many concerns for the welfare of loved ones on my mind.

Ponderings

This morning the dishwasher timing was off and It had needed unloaded yesterday a second time, but that left not enough to run it again last night, so no dishes to do or unload while listening to scripture. I instead opted to read a talk by David A. Bednar, "Accepting the Lord's Will and Timing".

I would see the key take aways of the talk as being the importance of accepting the Lord's will without shrinking and having the faith not to be healed can be as important as having the faith to be healed. Reading or listening to the talk doesn't take too long and I'd suggest it's worth the time.

I've titled this hope against hope, because there are times when all indicators are that a particular blessing is not being granted, and it may well be that is because the Lord knows best and the healing or blessing we want is not the most important blessing or healing we need for our overall eternal journey. But that being said, faith precedes the miracle and we need to not lose hope for that which we desire while also recognizing that perhaps there is more we need to learn through trials that the Lord can remove, but doesn't for our growth and wellbeing.
