Accountability
Still going strong - I m ay need something to help trigger my morning prayers sooner than writing about it here and realizing I have yet to do it (doing so and returning) but it's a start. Today I had squats to get through and had 3x20 with forty pounds of dumbbells (2x20) in my hands sitting atop my shoulders. Be the end of the third set I my upper body was on fire from holding and stabilizing the weight for sixty repetitions. Also my breathing and heart rate were certainly elevated, so definitely getting some cardiorespiratory training effect there.
Three Nephites
Listening in 3 Nephi as I put dishes away, I was hearing about the twelve disciples in America and how three desired not to taste of death, but to continue their ministry until Christ's return and how they were granted this desire to help continue to bring souls unto Christ. What caught my attention most this morning was verses 38 and 39 of 3 Nephi 28:
38 Therefore, that they might not taste of death there was a change wrought upon their bodies, that they might not suffer pain nor sorrow save it were for the sins of the world.
39 Now this change was not equal to that which shall take place at the last day; but there was a change wrought upon them, insomuch that Satan could have no power over them, that he could not tempt them; and they were sanctified in the flesh, that they were holy, and that the powers of the earth could not hold them.
I love this description of being sanctified in the flesh that they were holy and a change such that Satan could have no power over them. The scriptures have other examples of those who appear to have attained a state where the adversary has no power over them and walk in holiness such that the powers of the earth can't hold them as well. Mormon states it's not known whether they were cleansed from mortality to immortality, but he inquired of the lord and knows that a change of some sort happened in their bodies so they wouldn't die. Others walking in holiness may not be around until the lord comes again at least not among us (Alma, Moses, Elijah seem to have been taken up without tasting death) but many do seem to live to advanced age beyond the norm.
Let's work to walk in holiness and bring souls to Christ that we may be sanctified.
Be strong!

Purified even as he is pure, You have reminded me of Moroni 7:48. I need to memorize this verse again but the action item is to pray for charity with all the energy of your heart so that you can be filled with the pure love of Christ. When you are filled with the pure love of Christ you will be purified even as he is pure. I should make a consistent effort to pray for charity. Moroni 7 makes it clear that charity is the big important thing. It looks like being filled with charity will bring sanctification or at least make a big contribution to it.
