This is what I have against thee

Accountability

This morning I completed three sets of 20 push-ups with 45 seconds between sets. It was clear progress as the last time I couldn't complete the third set without a little position change rest. The final reps were still a real challenge today, but I got them done.

I read scriptures last night and listened this morning while putting away dishes.

Ponderings

Last night I was reading in Alma 39 where the words Alma shared with his son Corianton begin. I think this chapter is generally well known as a chapter on the importance of chastity and Corianton will long be known as the son gave into sexual temptation. What I found interesting last night is that in opening the address Alma brought up entirely different topics. He said, "This is what I have against thee; thou didst go on unto boasting in thy strength and wisdom."

It gave me pause, because I can see how sharing my journey of improving fitness and sharing my thoughts could be seen as boasting in my own greatness and thinking my thoughts are particularly great and need to be read. I hope that this is not the perception among readers as I can assure each of you, I am sharing my journey to help encourage and lift others and it can actually be a little frightening exposing my weakness as my behaviors are still small and my tree of faith in it's infancy when I am at a stage in life where I should likely be at my best. Please know that I am not boasting in my own strength or wisdom, but glorying in Christ that he has blessed me with with the knowledge and experience to help change lives for the better and a platform to do so by exposing my own deficiencies to showcase that we are all human and working on it together.

Be strong!
